Über-Maus

Tuesday, September 9th, 2008

Since my mouse is still at the 112th Precinct(= a police station) in Queens, and I can’t / shouldn’t / won’t use my girlfriend’s mom’s mouse any more, I bought a new mouse today. Ever since I started using a Logitech MX Revolution at work, ever since I set it up so that this fancy new wireless rodent of mine lets me do such awesome things as navigating though my source code with the arrow buttons, jumping from one instance of a selected string to the next or previous one,  ever since I bound a CTRL-W-keystroke on the backward-pull of the 2nd mousewheel in order to be able to close tabs and windows alike with an elegant little pull with my thumb, ever since I did that, I felt like I was walking with crutches when using my laptop without that Übermaus.  You know, like using a computer without a mousewheel.

Those days are over,  I got an MX Revolution now, and here comes the interesting part for you (Potentially):

Über-Options is a little tool  that lets you map ALL mouse buttons & wheels to whatever you like.

I googled a bit for something like this because Logitech’s Software didn’t allow me to bind keystrokes to the secondary wheel. Now I can, thanks to überOptions!

Dankeschön.
